This guide is designed to show you how to prepare and execute some common functions beyond the basics of assembling video and audio clips. It is not intended to be a substitute for reading the manual or taking a class to teach you the basic functions of Final Cut Pro. It is assumed that you already have an intermediate knowledge of the editing program, and that you are capable of locating the functions mentioned in this guide.

What is shown here does not represent the only way to do this kind of work. However, these methods have proven to provide good service to my clients and other professionals with whom I have collaborated, such as audio mixers, graphic designers, and colorists.

As the industry and technology changes, so too will the workflow procedures, and you will be expected to stay on top of them. What matters most is that you become an indispensable creative and technical resource to your clients, and that you become able to manage your time to earn a proper living and still have a life left over!

This guide, I hope, will help you to achieve that. Click on the Chapter links to begin.
